Ward Freman Community Pool Group CIO, the charity set up in 2024 with the aim of repairing, reopening and refurbishing Ward Freman Swimming Pool is now ready to build a new team to run the pool. We are looking for strong individuals who embrace our ethos and can work as a team to create something special for the community in the Buntingford area.
The pool will operate on a not for profit basis, all proceeds being reinvested.
You can find all current vacancies below as well on our social media pages.
To apply please send your CV to jo**@************ol.org stating for which position you wish to apply.
Volunteers
Trustees and volunteers have been busy since January 2024 fundraising, writing business plans and grant applications to save the pool for the benefit of the community. All that hard work is coming to fruition as we now plan the opening of the pool. An integral part of our business plan has always been the inclusion of volunteers to help run the pool.
There is nothing onerous about volunteering. We will have trained lifeguards and specialist maintenance team for the tricky stuff! Full training will be provided and then you can sign up for as many or as few hours as you wish, at a time that suits you. Its totally flexible. You can pop in any time to see what’s what, you won’t be thrown in at the deep end!
Who can be a volunteer?
If you can answer a phone, sweep a floor, make a cup of tea, serve an ice cream and give change for a fiver (obviously not all at the same time), you’re the type of person we’re looking for!
You might be a parent, teenager, senior citizen or anyone in between. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn a new skill or fill in some time whilst contributing to the success of the pool.
If you could spare 1 hour or several hours we would love to hear from you just email us at vo*******@************ol.org
Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who have already given generously of their time, energy and enthusiasm.
