The brilliant Gary from Evolving Spaces has been with us all week installing the brand new kitchen. He has been ably assisted by Dave the electrician (sorry about the whole microwave thing Dave!) not forgetting Rob the Boss, for whom nothing is too much trouble. His generosity cannot be overstated. All that is needed now is a bit of tiling by our own Mark Addison, a little bit of painting by yours truly and all will be complete! Brilliant.

DR Heating remain hard at work on the showers, the heating system is getting flushed through and the shiny shower bits are still going in. Meanwhile, the pool’s water temperature continues to rise gently. Jason from JCS has been keeping a close eye on the operation of the boilers, making sure all is well and that the slow progress of the pool water heating is maintained. The building refurbishment is now much very close to completion. There is just a little bit of final commissioning to be done on the plant and the water pipes to be enlivened. (i.e. have water put in them!) There are some exciting deliveries due this week and then it’s a case of a deep clean in preparation for the opening!

Away from the practical stuff, we have received our corporate livery! Well, our staff tee shirts actually; colour coded according to role: Manager – Blue, Lifeguard – Yellow, Instructor – White and for our brilliant Volunteers – a stylish Grey apron! With thanks to local firm, Saffron Apparel.

It was most gratifying that we were able to host previous committee members of Buntingford Swimming Club (whilst the kitchen install was in full swing) as they held a meeting at the pool where those willing to revitalise the club, as we are revitalising the pool, came together to formulate a plan to do just that! At present the plan is to re-form the committee to re-establish the club itself, before welcoming members back into the water in the New Year. We will of course, be gladly supporting the club with pool time starting with Thursday evenings from 6pm.
